CHALLENGE: TRYING OUT MAKEUP UNDER $5

December 25, 2019

I recently filmed a collab with Michelle Ann on youtube where we had to try out makeup under $5.00. I also filmed a behind the scenes and more in-depth video on my channel and I'll link it below. The biggest challenge was actually finding the items under $5.00. When shopping for the items I misunderstood the makeup challenge and thought I just had to pay $5.00 or less for each item so I took advantage of many promotions Ulta had currently going on. After shopping for these items I realized the point was to try out the quality of items that are normally priced $5.00 and under.

MY NIGHTTIME SKINCARE ROUTINE

November 25, 2019

Hi everyone! So today I'm bringing you my nighttime skincare routine! It's super important to have a nighttime routine as this rehydrates, repairs, and rejuvenates your skin from daily stressors. My skin type is Normal to Dry, and my main concerns are aging (as I'm 29 years old), moisture, and more moisture. I've tried hundreds of products over the last few years and the skincare routine I'm using now makes my skin look so good! These products may not work for everyone, but if you have dry skin then I definitely recommend trying them out.

1.) For my first step, I like to remove my makeup with Neutrogena Cleansing Towelettes. This gets most of the surface makeup off while leaving my skin feeling hydrated. It even works on waterproof makeup.  $12.49

2.) My second step is the Mario Badescu Glycolic Foaming Cleanser. This has absolutely changed my life! In the past I would use really harsh cleansers on my skin as they would make my skin feel squeaky clean, however, this would lead to dry, red skin. I also don't like a cleanser that feels like it leaves the product on the skin. This is the best cleanser I've ever used, I get a deep clean that leaves no product feeling behind. $16

3.) The Mario Badescu Cucumber Cleansing Lotion is a toner that leaves my skin feeling so fresh and helps to control shine. Its recommended for combination/ oily skin, however, I really like it on my skin. I apply it every about 3x a week, so it's not too drying. I use a cotton ball on my T-zone areas. $15

4.) The Peach & Lilly Wild Dew Treatment Essence is a very lightweight formula designed to pack your skin with hydration. It literally feels like water. It has a hyaluronic acid complex which basically means it holds up to 1,000 times its weight in water, so it jam packs your skin with moisture. I like to pour a couple drops onto my hands and then gently pat onto my face, neck, and decollete. I then let it soak in for a minute or two before I move on to the next step. $39

5.) Dermalogica's Sound Sleep Cocoon is a nighttime must! First of all, it has lavender essential oils that smell amazing! Its gel-like consistency makes it a great step before my heavier moisturizers, but it is still so moisturizing and even repairing to the skin. It also relaxes me and truly helps me sleep at night. The trick is to gently massage it into the skin which releases the essential oils, and then I like to hold my hands close to my nose and take a deep breath in to get the full benefits. Dermalogica claims you don't need another moisturizer on top of this one, but I feel since I have really dry skin that I do. If you have more oily skin then you may not need another moisturizer.  $80

6.) For eye cream, I'm currently using BareMinerals Ageless Genius Firming & Wrinkle Smoothing Eye Cream. $48. It makes my skin around my eyes feel so soft and supple. This product is great for anti-aging. Sometimes I switch it up with the Clinique Smart Custome Repair Eye Treatment. $50.50. The Clinique Eye treatment is a serum and I generally use it in the summer, or warmer months. During the winter my skin can be a lot dryer so I like to pack on the moisture, which is why I am using the BareMinerals eye cream.

7.) My favorite night cream is the Clinique Smart Night Custom-Repair Moisturizer For Very Dry To Dry Skin. This is a Hollygrail product for me as it reduces fine lines and wrinkles, firms the skin and evens out my skin tone. $58

* Every other day I use the Mario Badescu Vitamin C Serum. This product has really helped with the darkness under my eyes and dullness that I was seeing in my face. The texture of my skin is way smoother as well.  I use this every other night as the brightening can be too powerful and intense for my skin every day. Mario Badescu recommends every other night. $45

I honestly love these products and they have made a huge difference with my skin! Just remember great skin starts from within. That means if you eat healthy foods, then your skin will look healthier. I try to make sure to drink lots of water throughout the day and limit my salt and sugar intake. If I eat lots of chocolate, its almost guaranteed that my skin will break out over the next couple of days.

Have you tried any of these products? Let me know in the comments section what skincare products your currently loving right now! Don't forget to mention your skin type!

MY CURRENT FAVORITE DESIGNER HANDBAGS AT NORDSTROMS

November 16, 2019

Hey guys! I was recently looking at handbags online and I was surprised Nordstroms carries so many designer brands. Of course, I quickly went through and made a wish list of about 20 bags. :)  I have since condensed the list to 4 bags that I would actually purchase. Here is my list below:
The first handbag is the Medium Devotion Leather Shoulder Bag by Dolce & Gabbana. It retails for $1995. I love the details of the heart design on the front. The bag has a classic shape and color yet still stands out.

The Small Kate Suede Shoulder Bag by Saint Laurent gives me such a California vibe, that I need it in my life! I love the look of suede, and the Palm tree in the emblem is so gorgeous! It retails for $2190.
Prada makes the most beautiful classic bags! This Monochrome Saffiano Leather shoulder bag is so simple and classy. It also comes in Nero (black), and Petalo (light pink). It retails for $2050.
The VLTN Logo Candystud Lambskin Top Handle Satchel by Valentino Garavani is so Vogue and chic. I love the studs, top handle, and black lettering. It retails for $2995.

What's on your wishlist right now? Are there any bags that you're currently loving from Nordstroms?

UPDATE OF THE LAST COUPLE MONTHS.....

September 1, 2019

Hey everyone!
Long-time no talk. So much has changed in my life over the last couple of months and I can't wait to share it all with you. It all started with me getting engaged in June, there is a whole post about this here on my blog. I will be uploading the engagement video soon! Then I quit my job literally the next week. Greatest decision ever! I had been working nonstop and putting my all into something that wasn't bringing anything to my table. Once I quit my job I literally had so much time.

The very next day, my fiance and I flew to Las Vegas for 24 hours to buy a car and drive it home. Such a fun little trip, Vince had never been to Las Vegas, and that's where I grew up. It was such a cool experience showing him some of the fun things on the strip. We also hit up some car museums on the way back and stopped by the Airplane Boneyard in Mojave, CA.

I opened up a salon suite and started my business, Colada Beauty. For those of you that don't know, a salon suite is a small room that you rent to run your business out of. It is set up for estheticians, cosmetologists and other professionals in the beauty industry. I'm going to start a new youtube series about my salon suite life coming out in October and I'm so excited. Its been such a great experience getting my business started and working for myself, I absolutely love it!

In the first two weeks of August, Vince and I spent a week in Pismo with my family and then a week in Tahoe with his family. It just so happens that every year our two family vacations are back to back. As much as I love vacationing, I'm also the type of person that goes a little stir crazy being on vacation for more than 3 days. Once we got home, I hit the ground running and started decluttering and deep cleaning my house. I found some great DIY projects on Pinterest that I've been doing to become a little more organized at home. I will be sharing these DIYs with you guys in the lifestyle section of my blog.

Last but not least, I've been planning my wedding. This has been so stressful but exciting at the same time. We've toured multiple venues, and calculated so many costs. I did not know how much actually goes into a wedding and honestly, it's ridiculous. I will be blogging and vlogging the whole engagement/ wedding experience for you guys because there is just so much that I didn't know actually goes into a wedding and it can be very overwhelming.

I'm so excited for what's to come over the next few months and I'm excited to share my life journey with you. If there are any video/ blog requests, please put them below in the comments section.

Thank you guys so much!

I'M ENGAGED!!

June 25, 2019

OMG!!!! I'm engaged!! So crazy to say, but feels amazing! After 4 1/2 years together Vince has asked me to be his wife. He proposed on June 8, 2019, in Arnold, CA, on top of a ledge that overlooked the whole valley. It was absolutely perfect!

In Vince & I's relationship, I can often sense when he is going to buy me flowers or doughnuts, and so he had to be very sneaky to surprise me. About a month before, he took a picture of a ring that I had sent him a long time ago to the jewelers to be made. He then enlisted one of my best friends Punita to convince me to get my nails done. She told me she would pay for me to get my nails done for my birthday which was June 4th. At first, I didn't think anything of it because we used to get our nails done together all the time. A couple days later something clicked and I thought something was up, so I came home and questioned Vince about our upcoming camping trip. He played it off very well and then I started questioning myself wondering if I was hoping too much and therefore I was just really wanting it to happen. Up until the day we left for camping I ended up questioning another friend and even called my grandfather to see if I would be able to sense anything. Everyone played it off really well which made me think it was all in my head.
Our plan was to spend one night at the family cabin and then go camping the next day. We ended up getting into Arnold early and I was just so excited to get out of town that I suggested we camp the first night. While we were driving to our camping spot, the sun began setting so we decided to go to a cliff that we had been to before when we first started dating so we can see the sunset.

(Photos from a month into our relationship)

I grabbed all my camera equipment and so did Vince. This was normal as we both love taking photos, and we often take photos throughout all our camping trips. When we got to the top of the ledge, I began taking photos for Instagram.
The sight was absolutely beautiful, and I was feeling nervous about being up so high because I'm afraid of heights. Vince told me to take some photos standing up, and I was afraid of falling and so at this point, I completely forgot about getting engaged. So I stood up and Vince came over next to me and told me the GoPro was taking photos every 3 seconds so I started posing and holding each pose for 3 seconds, (I later realized he was recording.) He then gave me a kiss, dropped down on one knee, and pulled out a black box from his pocket. I yelled, "Shut the fuck up!" and then started ugly crying. Of course, I said YES!
Everything was so perfect! That night we sat at the campfire and talked for hours about how Vince planned the proposal and how excited we both are for what's to come. This is so far the best day of my life!
