WISHLIST WEDNESDAY | MAC COSMETICS

November 9, 2016

Today's wishlist wednesday comes from MAC Cosmetics. I like to keep a revolving wishlist on the MAC website with all the items that interest me and I want to purchase next time I'm at the store. I am an employee of Estee Lauder which means I do get a discount on products which is amazing.

I have many single eyeshadows from MAC and I think it would be great to depot them and put them in a palette. I find it a lot easier to find and use eyeshadows when it's just one palette, than 15 individual eyeshadows.
Also I want to get a 4 shadow palette to put different eyebrow shades for when I am freelancing. As I've said before in my Empties post, I recently discovered Prep & Prime and I am in love.
The Warm and Cool 15 shade eye palettes would be a great addition to my freelance kit. I am trying to have a great freelance kit bu in a simple way. Meaning I don't want a ton of products, I just want a few key pieces.

I've heard great things about the brush cleanser form MAC, so I want to give it a try. I also need a Makeup remover for my kit, and a travel size one is perfect.
I love the Studio Fix Line from MAC and I need to restock my personal foundation. NC20 is my color for when I am tan.
I want to get Prep + Prime in travel size for my freelance kit and i bigger size for my personal use. Prep + Prime Fix Plus is great for prepping the skin before makeup application, as well as setting it when finished.

If you have any questions about the products above, feel free to ask below in the comments.

Thank you,

xoxo Amber

EMPTIES | SEPTEMBER & OCTOBER 2016

November 7, 2016

Hey everyone!

Thanks for visiting my blog. So the other day I filmed my "Empties" video for September & October, and unfortunately I didn't realize that it hadn't recorded the voice until after I threw away the products. Luckily I took one photo of the products before I tossed them. So here it it:

So first off, it was really hard for me to not throw away items after I used them up. I kept forgetting and I threw away a ton of products, which is why this is for the month of September and October. Otherwise the Empties collection would be too small for me to talk about.

I finished another Neutrogena Makeup remover towelettes, and if you know me, then you know this is the most important beauty item I own. I swear by these and I recommend them to anyone and everyone.

I received a travel size of MAC's Prep & Prime last time i ordered online, and I absolutely love it. I am definitely purchasing the full size of this item next time I visit MAC. It made my skin feel so soft and my makeup look so smooth. I finished another Studio Fix Powder from MAC as well. I'm in the color NC20. This is my go to face powder.

I gave the Maybelline Fit Me Powder a try, however I was very disappointed with it. I felt like it didn't give me a smooth finish on my face and it looked very cakey in some spots.

There was two black eyeliners that i finished this month. The one with the gold cap is from Jordana, and I was very impressed by it. You can pick it up at Walgreens for just a couple dollars and it last all day. The other eyeliner I finished is buy Wet N Wild. It goes on great on the lid of my eyes, however it doesn't show up on the waterline. I would not repurchase the Wet N Wild eyeliner.

I received a travel size bottle of 28 Remedy Acne Pore Deep Cleanse in my IPSY so I decided to give it a try. I really didn't like this product because I felt like it left a film of stickiness on my face after using it. It didn't do any deep cleaning and I actually starting breaking out when using this product.

The Smashbox Lipgloss was not empty, however it was expired. It had a plastic smell to it. I personally don't wear golden lipglosses so I decided to toss it.

The last Empty item was by Redkin, its the Extreme Anti-Snap Leave In Treatment. I have used this item for years, its great for dry damaged hair. When using it, I put it on out the shower and I use other Leave in conditioners at the same time to get the best conditioning treatment for my hair. I would definitely repurchase this item however I would get a smaller bottle because it takes forever to finish.

If you have any questions about the products above, feel free to ask below in the comments.

Thank you,

xoxo Amber

NAIL POLISH DECLUTTER

November 4, 2016

Yay! I'm so excited to finally declutter my nail polish collection!! I went from way to much polish to just enough. I realize I spend way to much money on nail polish, that could be used for something more important.

One thing that I didn't film in the video is that I sold a lot of the nail polish that was unused on Ebay and I made $160 from it! It was so easy to sell the items, and now I have some money to put towards future beauty purchases. I am going to be more selective going forward with the products that I buy.

If you want to see how I decluttered my collection, check out the video below!

Thank you,

I will post a video in the beginning on 2017 to update you and let you know if I finished all these products and review each one.

Giorgio Armani Si Perfume & Lip Maestro Voxbox!!

October 11, 2016

Yay!! I finally got a Voxbox from Influenster. It's been about 3 months since I signed up with them and I'm so happy they sent me the Giorgio Armani Voxbox for testing purposes. Inside the box I received a full size Si Intense perfume and 2 Lip Maestro lip colors. I'm totally in love with the perfume, its sophisticated and sexy. The Lip Maestros are great too, however I normally don't wear red lips. Take a look at my video below for a more in depth review.

TIPS FOR BUYING YOUR 1ST MAKEUP BRUSH SET

October 6, 2016

Good makeup brushes are the most important tools to have in your makeup kit.You don't need to spend alot of money to have a good set of brushes. In my freelance kit I have brushes on the low end from Target for about $3 each and I have brushes on the higher end like MAC and Sigma. Its important to know that you can find a good brush set for under $30 that will include every brush you need and has great quality.
When I started out freelancing in 2008, there weren't many brands of brushes that were affordable. I purchased brushes from Target, Coastal Scents and Sigma. Sigma cost a lot less back then, a full pro set of brushes were $69. Those were pretty much the only affordable brushes out there. Today you have brands like Morphe, BH Cosmetics, and EyesLipsFace that are great too.
My favorite inexpensive sets of brushes are from BH Cosmetics. I have 2 sets from them and I would say I use these more than any other brushes I have.

This 18 piece Studio Pro Brush set is a great deal for $32, and it comes with the brush belt.

I have this 10 piece Pop Art Brush Set and its amazing quality for $20.

http://www.elfcosmetics.com/p/eleven-piece-brush-collection?dept=tools-brush-sets

E.L.F has some great affordable brushes in their studio line. This 11 piece kit is $30 or you can buy the brushes separately, which I highly recommend and they are only about $3-$6 a brush. They usually have a great cyber monday/ black friday sale too.
This 18 piece Vegan Brush Set from Morphe is definitely a go to for someone just getting into freelance makeup. The brushes are amazing quality and the set costs $49.99. Personally I don't care for the brush rolls and  I usually end up throwing them away.

The Sigma Essentials Kit- Make Me Classy is a great kit, but it's a little more pricey coming in at $179. This is pretty similar to the kit I have, however I purchased it a few years back for only $69. Sigma keeps getting better and better with their brushes which is probably why the cost keeps going up. I recommend this kit to makeup artists, and beauty junkies.

I hope you find this information useful, and if you have any questions feel free to leave a comment below.

WISHLIST WEDNESDAY | LUXURY HANDBAGS

September 7, 2016

I'm totally obsessed with designer handbags! I've always wanted a Chanel Classic Flap and that has been #Goals for me.

So I've been totally obsessing over the Gucci Soho Disco lately. I love cross body bags and this one just looks so chic. They cost about $980 so there not totally breaking the bank but they are a little pricey. I think the Rose Beige Leather is gorgeous. I've seen some people with a beautiful light pink bag, but when I went to Gucci they said that was an older color.

Dior recently came out with the Diorama bag which is amazing. Its similar in style to the Chanel Classic Flap in my opinion. I've never been really impressed by Dior handbags, but since they came out with the Diorama I've been obsessed. I think the Diorama bag in the Nude Lambskin is beautiful. I also really like the Bleu De Minuit Grained Calfskin.

I've been seeing a lot of Dior Miss Promenade bags on some of my favorite pre-loved websites, and I'm in love. I originally didn't like these bags, but for some reason I feel like I NEED one in my life!

FASHION FRIDAY | SEPTEMBER 2, 2016

September 2, 2016

Hey everyone! I hope you're having a great Friday!

I recently downloaded the "Stylebook" app in hopes that it would help me stay organized with my closet. The cool thing about the app is that it allows you to have an overview of all the items in your closet when you're away from home or shopping, and you can tell if you already have that item or not. Another cool thing about the app is that you can add the clothes to your calendar so you know what you wore last Thursday or how many times you wore that dress and if it was really worth the purchase.
Also you can put style inspiration in the app so you can look back at outfits that inspire you. I thought this was pretty cool because I often screenshot celebrities and bloggers' outfits and then the photos just sit in my phone and I never usually look back. With the app I have a place to store all those photos and I can delete them off my camera roll.
So I knew adding all my clothes into the app would take probably a couple hours maybe even a day to do. I decided to put on some upbeat dance music and set up the photography station, and one by one photograph each piece of clothing. Once all the photos had been taken, I started uploading them to the app into the categories they have set, such as tank tops, and shorts.
I'm really excited about using this app because I feel like I'm constantly on the go, and constantly planning trips, or outfits for events but I don't always have time to look through my closet.  Overall the whole process took about half a day to photograph my closet I made sure to have coffee and snacks ready and I kept motivated. However, I can easily see it taking a day or so depending on how big your closet is. I will keep you updated on if I find this app useful in a week or in a month and if it was worth the $3.99 to purchase it.

PRODUCT REVIEW | GLAMGLOW ULTIMATE ANTI-AGING SET

February 4, 2016

So I've been hearing a lot about GLAMGLOW lately and I've been dying to try  out their products. I've always been really into anti aging so I decided to try out their anti-aging line. Right now there is a great deal on Sephora.com with GLAMGLOW's holiday sets. You can get the entire Anti aging line for $69 where normally the mask only is $69. I'm tempted to buy another gift set to try out their other products. :)

The set includes a full size Youthmud Tinglexfoliate treatment, a travel size Supermud Clearing Treatment, A travel size Daily Exfoliating Cleanser, and an applicator brush.

The first product I tried was the Youth Cleanse Daily Exfoliating Cleanser. It starts out like a mud and then as you add water it gets foamy. I really like the cleanser however I would use it as a special occasion cleanser not a daily cleanser.

Next I tried the Tingle-exfoliating Treatment, and I must say its Amazing! It smells fabulous and spa like, and a little bit goes along way. It says to leave the mask on for about ten minutes, but I found that it took about 15 minutes to completely dry on me. Then when you rinse it off you actually add water in a circular motion and it acts as an exfoliant. I must say its a very rough exfoliant that I would probably use 1-2 times a month so I don't over dry my skin.

The GLAMGLOW  Supermud was great as well. It says you can use it as a mask or as a spot treatment for breakouts. I only tried it on a couple spots but it cleared my skin up right away.

Overall I LOVE the GLAMGLOW products and I'm ready to place my next order! I actually didn't wear any face makeup today because my skin looks so good, and if you know me then you realize how big of a deal it is for me to feel confident in public without face makeup.

PS: GLAMGLOW is formulated without Parabens, sulfates, or Phthalates.

2016 RESOLUTIONS!

January 3, 2016

1. To expel positivity, and never dwell on the negatives.

2. Try not to over exert myself. I constantly say “yes” to a hundred things and work as much as possible, however 2015 flew by so fast and I didn’t have much time to enjoy it. So I want to take the time to smell the roses, or paint on a Sunday and watch the sunset.

3. Save $, and spend less. I don’t need much so I want to only spend on necessities so I can save for a house.

4. Eat Cleaner. I don’t want to put junk food and chips into my body because it makes me feel sluggish. I want more “real” food in my diet and definitely a lot more water.

 5. Exercise more. I’ve always been very active, however I have overbooked myself a lot recently and haven’t had time to exercise. Even just talking the dogs for a walk 3 times a week would be an improvement.

6. Learn new things and let my creativity flow. Yoga and meditation are two things I would like to try.

  7. Travel more and experience new places.
